Evidence-based psychotherapist tailored to your journey.
Lauren Jacobs is a psychotherapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She is also undertaking a doctorate at the University of Roehampton, accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Lauren offers therapy grounded in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. She works within the ethical frameworks of the BACP and BPS, providing a safe and inclusive space where patients can explore challenges, develop insight, and move toward meaningful change.
She holds master’s degrees in Psychology and Counselling Psychology, and her doctoral research focuses on trauma, identity, and internalised racism among marginalised groups in the UK. Alongside her clinical work, Lauren has delivered guest lectures for psychology trainees and practitioners on topics such as race, difference, and practitioner wellbeing.
Lauren’s first degree in English Literature and Publishing continues to shape her therapeutic approach. Her appreciation for language and narrative informs her sensitivity to how people make sense of their experiences, relationships, and sense of self.
With over seven years’ experience across NHS services, mental health charities, community organisations, and private practice, Lauren has supported clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, identity-related distress, eating disorders, OCD, and relational difficulties.
Lauren draws from an integrative therapeutic approach, combining:
- Psychodynamic Therapy – exploring early experiences and unconscious dynamics.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – identifying and shifting unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.
- Person-Centred Therapy – emphasising empathy, authenticity, and self-acceptance as the basis for growth.
By weaving together these approaches, Lauren provides a flexible and personalised therapeutic experience that honours each person’s unique background, needs, and goals.
