Axiety Disorders

Effective Online Assessment for Generalised Anxiety, Panic and Phobias

We work with individuals experiencing persistent worry, panic attacks, avoidance behaviours and social anxiety. Conditions include:

Specific Phobias

Specific Phobias involve an intense and persistent fear of a particular object or situation, such as heights, flying, animals, or medical procedures. The fear is often disproportionate to the actual risk and may lead individuals to avoid certain situations, which can interfere with daily activities.

Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is characterised by excessive and persistent worry about everyday situations, such as work, health, or personal responsibilities. The worry is also persistent despite no major trigger and can remain once trigger subsides. The ongoing anxiety is beyond the patient’s controlsuch as restlessness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and sleep disturbances.

Panic Disorder involves recurrent and unexpected panic attacks—sudden episodes of intense fear that can include physical symptoms such as a racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness, or chest discomfort. People with consequent avoidance behaviour of the places where they have had a panic attack.

Social Anxiety Disorder is characterised by an intense fear of social situations where a person may feel observed, judged, or embarrassed. This fear can affect everyday interactions such as speaking in groups, meeting new people, or performing tasks in front of others.

Separation Anxiety Disorder involves excessive fear or distress about being separated from people to whom a person feels strongly attached, usually caregivers. Other common symptoms: Extreme distress when separated from caregivers Refusal to attend school Excessive worry about harm to attachment figures Sleeping difficulties without caregivers nearby Although often associated with children, it can also affect adults and may interfere with daily functioning, relationships, and independence.

Agoraphobia is characterised by intense fear or anxiety about situations where escape might be difficult or help might not be available if panic-like symptoms occur. This may lead individuals to avoid places such as crowded areas, public transport, or being outside home alone.

Selective Mutism is an anxiety disorder in which a person consistently finds it difficult or impossible to speak in certain social situations, despite being able to speak comfortably in others. It most commonly appears in childhood and can affect social interaction and participation in school or community settings.
