General Assessments
Online Psychiatry Assessments in the UK
At Online Psychiatry UK, we conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for children, teenagers, and adults to ensure comprehensive care across all age groups. Our approach is rooted in care and compassion, prioritizing your well-being above all. Following the guidelines of the DSM-5 or ICD-11, we prioritize your care and strive to deliver top-notch standards in our services.
Throughout the evaluation, the psychiatrist will endeavor to understand your concerns and the purpose behind scheduling the appointment. They will conduct a thorough assessment of your mental health history, current symptoms, and any relevant life experiences. This may involve exploring various aspects of your life, such as your relationships with others, previous treatment approaches and their outcomes or side effects, and any hurdles you may be encountering in your personal and professional life.
The goal is to collaboratively develop a holistic understanding of your mental health and formulate an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.

We offer a wide range of psychiatric assessments including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Personality disorders, psychosis, etc. For more information on the conditions we treat please click here.
The assessment with a psychiatrist usually lasts around 60 minutes. However, if you feel that you require more time to fully express your concerns and experiences, there is an option to schedule an extended adult general assessment lasting 90 minutes. This additional time allows for a more thorough exploration of your situation and ensures that all aspects of your presentation are adequately addressed.
At the end of the assessment, the psychiatrist will disclose the diagnostic impression as well as the different treatment plans available tailored to your needs.
The assessment fee covers a one-month prescription if necessary and a summary report of the outcomes of the assessment.
Please note that Online Psychiatry UK cannot provide support to those who are actively suicidal. In emergency situations we encourage you to seek assistance from the appropriate emergency services such as your nearest A&E department or your GP.

In most cases, a 60-minute appointment is adequate for general assessments. However, for patients with complex symptoms or a detailed mental health history, we advise booking a 90-minute appointment. This extended time allows your psychiatrist the opportunity to thoroughly evaluate your situation, offer feedback, and create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
If you are unsure about the duration of the appointment you should book, feel free to reach out to us, and we can provide guidance. -
You have the option to schedule your initial appointment using our online booking system up to 3 days in advance. In the case of urgent appointments needed within 48 hours, we can assist you in arranging this with an additional fee for administrative purposes.

Most patients book appointments with us to receive support for their mental health together with treatment plan. In order to keep our fees low, our general psychiatric assessments include a summary report which states the basic details of the initial assessment. This usually includes the working diagnosis/diagnosis, safeguarding concerns and treatment plan and recommendations. If you wish to have a detailed comprehensive report of your appointment, this can be requested with an extra fee.
The child and adolescent psychiatry assessments are intended to offer a space where young individuals can express themselves comfortably and openly. Our approach is child-centered and family-focused, recognizing the importance of involving parents or caregivers in the evaluation process.
Throughout the assessment, the psychiatrist will initially engage with the child or adolescent alone and explore their thoughts, feelings, and worries. At the end of the assessment, input from parents, teachers, and other significant individuals in the child’s life may be sought to gain a comprehensive understanding of the child’s functioning across different settings.

The assessment may include discussions about the child’s developmental history, academic performance, social relationships, and any concerns expressed by the child or their caregivers.
At the end of the assessment, the psychiatrist will disclose the diagnostic impression as well as the different treatment plans available tailored to the child’s needs.
We provide child and adolescent psychiatry assessments for individuals typically aged 12 years and older who are capable of participating in an interview. If your child is under 12 years old or unable to participate in an interview, please contact us with details of your circumstances. We will customize the assessment to suit your specific needs.
The child and adolescent assessment usually lasts 90 minutes. The assessment fee covers a one-month prescription if necessary and a summary report with the outcomes of the assessment.
