Bulimia Nervosa
Bulimia Nervosa is an eating disorder characterised by recurrent episodes of binge eating followed by behaviours intended to prevent weight gain, such as self-induced vomiting, excessive exercise, or misuse of laxatives. These cycles can significantly affect both physical health and emotional wellbeing.
Anorexia Nervosa
Anorexia Nervosa is an eating disorder characterised by an intense fear of gaining weight and a persistent restriction of food intake, leading to significantly low body weight. Individuals may also experience a distorted perception of their body shape or weight.
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) involves limited or restrictive eating that is not related to concerns about body weight or shape. Individuals may avoid certain foods due to sensory sensitivities, fear of negative experiences such as choking, or lack of interest in eating, which can affect nutrition and health.
Binge Eating Disorder
Binge Eating Disorder is characterised by recurrent episodes of eating large amounts of food within a short period, often accompanied by a sense of loss of control. Unlike bulimia, these episodes are not regularly followed by behaviours aimed at compensating for the overeating.
If needed, we work collaboratively with dietitians, therapists and GPs to ensure safe and effective multidisciplinary care.
