Dr Lauren Jacobs is a HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist and BACP-registered Psychotherapist with extensive experience supporting adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Being registered with both the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) means she works within strict professional and ethical standards. This ensures that you receive a high level of expertise and safe, accountable therapy.  She has worked across NHS services, charitable organisations, and private practice, providing psychological assessment and therapy to individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

Dr Jacobs adopts an integrative approach to therapy, having trained in psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural (CBT), and person-centred models. Her work is grounded in the belief that lasting psychological change arises from both a strong therapeutic relationship and a deeper understanding of the patterns, experiences, and relationships that shape emotional wellbeing. She works collaboratively with clients to explore how past experiences may influence present thoughts, feelings, relationships, and ways of coping, while developing practical strategies for meaningful and lasting change.

Her areas of expertise lie in anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, trauma, attachment difficulties, relationship challenges, identity and discrimination-related issues, and major life transitions.

Dr Jacobs holds MSc degrees in Psychology and Counselling Psychology, and a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from the University of Roehampton. Her research interests include trauma, discrimination, social identity, and psychological wellbeing. Alongside her clinical work, she contributes to teaching and training within the field of psychology through guest lecturing. She is committed to delivering evidence-based psychological care informed by current research and best practice.

Known for her thoughtful, insightful, and compassionate approach, Dr Jacobs provides a safe, confidential, evidence-based and inclusive space where clients can explore difficulties, deepen self-understanding, and work towards meaningful and sustainable change.
