Dr Claudia Aymerich is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Researcher providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and scientifically grounded treatment for children, adolescents, and adults.

Her areas of expertise include ADHD across the lifespan, Autism Spectrum Disorders, early psychosis, mood and anxiety disorders, and complex neurodevelopmental presentations.

Dr Aymerich graduated in Medicine and completed her specialist training in Psychiatry at Hospital Universitario Basurto, one of Spain’s reference centres in the field. She later completed a PhD in Neurosciences, focusing on early intervention and preventive approaches in severe mental illness, awarded the highest distinction (cum laude). Her doctoral work and subsequent research have centred on preventive psychiatry, neurodevelopmental conditions, and evidence synthesis in complex psychiatric conditions.

Throughout her professional career, Dr Aymerich has been awarded with several international recognitions, including: the Alicia Koplowitz Fellowship for advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at King’s College, the Japanese Psychiatry Society Award, and the Emerging Researcher Award from the Spanish Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health.

She currently holds an honorary Clinical Fellow position at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and is a Clinical Research Fellow at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London. Her work bridges clinical care and high-impact academic research, with a strong emphasis on translating scientific evidence into real-world clinical practice.

Dr Aymerich has extensive experience in urgent psychiatric care, having worked for several years in hospital emergency settings, as well as in Early Detection and Intervention Services. Alongside her clinical work, she leads and collaborates on multiple international systematic reviews and meta-analyses in child and adolescent psychiatry and oncology, and regularly contributes as a peer reviewer for international scientific journals.

She has an MSc in Addictive Medicine and has attended several certified courses, including the “Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule Course – ADOS-2” and the “Comprehensive Assessment of At-Risk Mental States – CAARMS”, organized by the Maudsley Institute.

Dr. Aymerich is an active member of international research networks and has participated in multi-centre collaborations across Europe. Her professional approach integrates biological, psychological, and social perspectives, ensuring that assessment and treatment plans are comprehensive, personalised, and developmentally informed.
