Dr. Giuseppe Pierpaolo Merola is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist with broad clinical expertise across inpatient, outpatient, and community mental health settings. He has treated a wide spectrum of psychiatric conditions, including mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, ADHD, autism, addictions, eating disorders, trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, and sexual dysfunction.
His approach combines evidence-based psychopharmacology and psychotherapy with a strong humanistic focus on patient autonomy. Dr. Giuseppe places great emphasis on building a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, respect, and collaboration—working closely with each individual to find the most suitable path toward recovery and personal growth.
Dr. Giuseppe earned his M.D. with honors from Sapienza University of Rome and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Florence, with a particular clinical and research focus on eating disorders.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Giuseppe is a Visiting Researcher at King’s College London, where he studies the genetic architecture of psychiatric disorders using advanced computational methods. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has presented his research at major international conferences, including the European Mathematical Genetics Meeting and the Majorana Centre for Scientific Culture.
